Gregory Alan Marcus

Gregory Alan Marcus, of Fort Wayne died peacefully in his home on January 18th, 2018. Greg was born to Charles and Wilda Gene (Garman) Marcus on April 22nd, 1956. He was a lifelong musician and patron of the arts. He played the cello with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic for nearly forty years. Over the last eleven years he also held numerous board positions, such as chair of the investment committee, member of the finance committee and board secretary for the Fort Wayne Philharmonic. His love of music extended to involvement in the early years of WBNI (predecessor of what is now NIPR) as an on-air classical music host. From 2009 until 2016 he served on the board of directors of Northeast Indiana Public Radio (WBNI/WBOI), working extensively with the finance committee. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed with North American Van Lines/Sirva. Survivors include: his brother Brian D. Marcus, of Haarlem, The Netherlands; his aunt, Anita Dunlavy of Fort Wayne; and several cousins. His surviving cousins include: Charlie Mendez of Portage, IN; Shawn Dunlavy of Delphos, OH; David Garman of Carmel, IN; Drew Dunlavy of Fort Wayne; Diane (Mendez) Kemp of Portage, IN; and Reagan Dunlavy of Peoria, IL. Service will be 10 am, Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Plymouth Congregational Church, 501 W Berry St, with calling one hour prior, Rev. Dr. John Gardner officiating. Visitation will be held at D. O. McComb and Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Ave, Friday, January 26, 2018 from 5 pm to 8 pm. Memorials to Northeast Indiana Public Radio (WBNI/WBOI).
