Hi Dad,
today marks 7 years since we lost you. As the years roll on my memories of you fade. Though I can never forget your smiling face, postive attitude and generosity you showed to every aspect of your life. I love you and miss you.

Deeply saddened to learn of the loss of my friend, classmate and mutual supporter during our honours year at Melbourne University. How vividly I remember your passionate plans to go on to medical school and how hard you worked for that 1st class degree. A career and life fully realised; a friend who is missed.

Mikenna had an operation today Guy, hopefully her last one and her first without you. After almost 10 years her scar is just how you always promised it would be, just a line! We are so sad you're not here to see the end result of all of your amazing work. X

Miss you Guy and think of you almost every day. I am sanding the back of my latest acoustic guitar and your name came into my mind for some reason, I think it's because you had an amazing sense of humour and you found it funny that I hated medicine and loved woodwork!
Miss your jokes, your frustrations and your beautiful work. Love you Guy

Guy you were the most amazing man, the day we came to you when Taylor lost her thumb we thought it was an impossible feat to repair but not for you it is still going well today. Thanks for everything you did for her. Oh and by the way all the facial piercings have gone. Thought you would be pleased about that.

We have only just found out about your loss and we are in shock. We would like to thank you for sharing Guy with so many many people. He made a difference to so many lives. The week I did my Year 10 work experience with you, Guy, was truly a fantastic week which I will never forget. You opened my eyes to the real world - the problems people face every day and the debilitating difficulties of their lives. Fortunately, these people had such a conscientious and caring surgeon standing over them on the operating table. At the end of the work experience week, your last words to me were 'work hard'. This resonated with me throughout my final years and I can proudly say that my achievements can be to a significant extent attributed to your inspiring words. You will be sadly missed. R.I.P.

To Dr Guy Dowlings family our condolences, Guy fixed my sons broken nose (Dec 09) he was a every easy going and friendly person who put you at ease and was very helpful and supportive, when my son broken his foot (1 Apr 10) Guy was very helpful and gave me alot of advise and never made me feel that it was an inconvenience even though it was not his area of speciality, he took the time to talk to the emergency room doctor for me resulting in my son getting the specialist he needed. We will never forget your kindness and are deeply sadden by your passing, Keurntjes family

Guy. You LITERALLY saved my life. You listened, and acted when other doctors told me there was nothing wrong with me! You were the only one who helped me before it was too late, then you rebuilt me with your miraculous talent. I was devastated to hear the news of your passing. My whole family was upset and took the time to talk about your hilarious, refreshingly honest bed-side manner. You came to visit me several times a day when I was the only patient you had at Waverley Private. You helped me heal physically and emotionally. I will never forget what you did for me. I will never forget you. KC.

Stop and listen, not a sound to be heard. The smile on your face, a deep love of an alpine world. Guy the mountaineer, farewell my dear friend. May your spirit guide me on the journey to the summit. - Denis and family.
