Harold BURMA Obituary
November 18, 1928 - August 9, 2013
It is with great sadness that the family of Harold Burma announces his peaceful passing at the age of 84 years into the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Harold is lovingly remembered by Victoria, his wife of 54 years; seven children: Lonnie (Lori Ann), Corinne (Ken) Kucey, Wayne (Donna), Arlen (Natalie), Marvin, LeAnne (Trevor) Cazemier, Denise (Kendall) Kowalchuk; 18 grandchildren: Jessica, Joel, Aric, Melissa, Rebecca, Adam; Carlee, Sherece, Derek; Jared, Stephanie; Colin (Charmaine); Olivia, Tyler; Hannah, Rachel, Jake, Sarah; three great-grandchildren Damon, Audrey and Juliet.
Harold was predeceased by his parents, Stefan and Dorothy; brothers, John and George; sisters, Olga, Francis, Mary and Anne. He has three surviving brothers, William (Bill) of Vernon, BC, Ed of Maple Ridge, BC and Dan of Edmonton, Alberta.
The Burma family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the amazing staff at the University of Alberta Hospital (4D2), Holyrood Extended Care, and the Grey Nuns Hospital (Palliative Care Unit) for their compassionate and professional care of Harold Burma throughout these past seven months.
A Celebration of Harold's Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Evangel Pentecostal Assembly, 4461 - 50 Street, Edmonton.
Memorial donations may be made to the Hope Mission.

Condolences to Vicky and family - I had the privilege of singing with the Burma Trio and soon found out that Harold was a perfectionist when it came to music. I learned so much from him and still remember our times of playing and singing. His talent in music will be missed by many. I think he probably is playing guitar and singing in Heaven now!

In 1971 I landed a summer job in a major warehouse distribution center. Harold was my immediate supervisor. The fairness and balance of his Christian character was consistently lived in such a way that many of us young guys took notice. I left the company to take on a 'calling'...three decades later I finished it and took on another, and was thrilled to find Harold and Victoria deeply established within the very congregation that I was privileged to serve. Will miss you 'Dispatch'!

May God be with Harold's family at this time but it is wonderful to know that he peacefully went to be with his Saviour. We experienced that moment when our mother went home to Heaven very recently. No more pain. Loved the Burma Trio and I used to listen to their LP's while I was doing homework. God will be your source of "comfort"!

Dear Vicki & Family, I was sad to hear of Harold's passing. I have such fond memories of him & Colin spending so much time together when Colin was just a young boy. Colin idolized his Grandpa and Harold devoted all his attention to Colin whenever Colin stayed at the Burma's. Harold was always so good with little children, they just loved him to pieces. I am so happy that Colin was fortunate to have such a loving grandfather. My condolences to you Vicki and your family!
