Dave and I became friends when he moved to Guymon ,OK, in the 70s. I was the County Extension Agent at that time. I moved to Amarillo in 1984 as the Potter County Agent and we renewed our friendship. I spent many hours at his place roping. Anyime I needed a horse to go to a roping he had one for me to use. I bought a horse from Monty Kromer from Hollis OK that we called Cadillac. On the way back to Amarillo from Hollis with my new horse, I stoped at Clarendon to show Kelvin Sharp, rodeo coach, my new horse. I roped a calf so he could see the horse work. After roping the calf, Kelvin said "Dave Eastlake will own that Horse"! Sure enough I sold Dave the horse. Dave roped calves, team roped, and steer roped on Cadillac. Dave will be missed. He was a great friend. My deepest sympathy to Dave's family for their loss, but I know they have many great memories. Jim Smith, Pagosa Springs, Colorado.

Dave was a good friend and customer at Luskey's He was a cowboy and a darn good roper. I think he would rope day and night. Got to spend some time with he and Nancy at the assisted living place. After many tries I finally got him set up on the Cowboy Channel +. Dave thought that was all right`. His dad Harry I knew several years before he passed. Harry was just an older Dave. I will miss Dave as many will. Happy Trails my FRIEND.
