Harry Gregor MacGregor,Sr., 92, of Raphine, died Sunday, January 6, 2002 at his home. Mr. MacGregor was born in Pittsburgh on September 13, 1909 and was a son of the late Thomas Gregor MacGregor and Mildred McGregor MacGregor. He was a member of the Marlbrook Baptist Church, past member, deacon & elder in the Avalon United Presbyterian Church, past member of the following churches, Ingomar Community United Methodist Church, Summerville South Carolina Presbyterian Church and New Providence Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Masons & Shriners and was retired from the U.S. Steel Co. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Vass MacGregor; one daughter, Barbara MacGregor Cosentino; three brothers; Dr. Thomas Gregor MacGregor, John Hartley MacGregor, Robert Wilson MacGregor and a sister; Helen MacGregor Wood. Mr. MacGregor is survived by two sons; Harry Gregor MacGregor, Jr., Raphine, Thomas Gregor MacGregor, Charleston, SC; one sister, Alice MacGregor Straight, Finleyville, PA; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Wednesday, January 9, 2002 at the Marlbrook Baptist Church with Pastor Gib Hale officiating. There will be a service held at 11 AM Friday, January 11, 2002 at the MCDONALD-LINN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 529 California Avenue, Avalon with burial to follow in the Allegheny Memorial Cemetery in Pittsburgh. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Marlbrook Baptist Church, 6926 North Lee Highway, Raphine, VA 24472, The Gideons International, PO Box 942, Lexington, VA 24450 or Rockbridge Area Hospice, PO Box 948, Lexington, VA 24450. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 PM Tuesday at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
