It is a measure of the man that, on just a random evening, someone was remembering Harry and appreciating the companionship and conviviality he shared on so many evenings at RCI. Thanks for the fun and the friendship, Harry.

I am shocked and saddened by the passing of Harry. I will miss his wonderful presence, his smile, his knowledge of music and Pittsburgh. It's hard to believe that I can't walk into the "Inn" and have him greet me anymore. My condolences to his family and friends. I will never forget Harry.

My condolences to Harry's family. I worked with Harry at Dingbats in the mid 80's and I miss sitting at the bar after work talking about any number of things that Harry had knowledge of. We also attended a couple of concerts together with the crew at the restaurant. He was one of the kindest, most affable people I have ever met. Were there a picture accompanying the word bartender in the dictionary his should be there because he was the best at what he did. May he rest in peace and I'm sure he God are having a few laughs together.

My favorite line from a sympathy card has always been "We have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night." I'm not even sure what that means but there was and is still comfort in it for me. May you all find the things that bring you comfort and believe that in time this pain will soften. He was a wonderful person who will so clearly be missed by many. My heart goes out to all of you and I will be available if I can be of any help.

Dear Harry,
I miss you so very much, it's been such a long time since we worked together at the RCI. You made working there a pleasurable experience and were always quick to put a smile on my face. I wish I could have seen your more after I left the RCI, but I know I'll see you in heaven. I still have the picture of all of us lined up across the street on the "St Patrick's Day snowstorm", covered in snow, just happy to be drunk, Irish, and together.
To Mrs Patterson and all of Harry's sisters and brother, you have my deepest sympathies, and my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Love, Casey

To The Patterson Family: I am so sorry for your loss. Harry was truly one of a kind. He was my "Jerry Lewis". (I think you and I were the only two people that liked Jerry.) Harry, I thank you for all the nights of singing, dancing and laughing (some very late nights!). You made me smile and laugh. I am so glad I got to spend the last New Year's Eve of you owning the RCI with you. You will always be in my heart. Rest in peace my friend. I love you.

"Hey do you who I am", "Hey my man", "It's on that guy down there" and my favorite “Nice, but not thrilling. I will miss that quick wit a great deal. I spent many of hours, with Harry late night playing the games. We had some great conversations on a such wide list of topics. Although, we might have not agreed on some, particularly politics', I respected his opinion. He challenged me and would make me critically think. He truly was one of the few people that I could speak with on a deep and knowledgeable level. I will miss those talks. To the Patterson family my sincere thoughts and sympathy on your loss. I wouldn’t be surprised if our favorite bartender/trivia maven, as he entered the Pearly Gates, asked St. Peter to name the 1951 baseball movie filmed in Pittsburgh and remade by Disney in 1994. (Not to worry, Harry. I’m not giving the answer away here.)
I’m proud to have published “The Pittsburgh Sports Wiz Trivia Quiz” and other best-selling books by you, Harry—but even prouder to have known you as a friend.

Harry, you were more than a friend, you were my family. I loved you more than you will ever know. Working togeather, laughing our heads off, your "Harry-isms", Pirate games, the Eagles concert (and so many others!), hanging with Bea and Itchy........ I could go on and on. I love you, sweetie. I hope you have peace.

Cousin, my blood and my friend. So many memories from the Christmas switchblade incident, to the Great Grand Juarez Christmas Eve taste test, to the Pirate playoffs in "94 with Ted and Jane (Turner and Fonda, ok so we came within a yard from them in the concourse), to an afterwork adult beverage at the RCI. So many memories.
But the most important was when you stood for my son Sean as his confirmation sponsor. It was a proud moment for the Patterson Family. Your Dad and your Uncle John would have been proud. But you know that now.
And I pray to have the opportunity to see you again. Sean, Corey, Leigh and I miss you already. Rest well with the Lord in eternity.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.I am a thousand winds that blow;I am the diamond glints on the snow.I am the sunlight that ripened grain;I am the gentle autumns’s rain. When you awaken in the morning’s hush,I am the swift uplifting rush,Of quiet birds in circled flight.I am the soft star that shines at night.Do not stand at my grave and cry.I am not there; I did not die
I will miss you my friend
