To those that remember her,
Helen Houghton was certainly a personality to be remembered in my life, and certainly the lives of many other students, colleagues and friends that she came across in her lifetime. Her passion for teaching was rivalled by few, and though she pushed very hard, if you were willing to meet her halfway, then she was there for you. It is sad that her life could not be longer, and that her love of history, travel and literature could not be shared with more...but at least her legacy will be carried in the lessons that she articulated and in the memorable times with friends in which she participated. She will be most missed.

To the family,
I was very sorry to read about your loss, I hope you can find comfort in the words found at Isa. 33:24 which say that soon no one will say 'I am sick.' You have my deepest sympathies.

"This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him." (I John 4:9) Helen surely lived an awesome life, she was fun to be around, she was passionate, loving and kind. She will surely be missed. J. C. Harris Academy(S. Melton)

I'll never forget the times when I was attending Lowell and we had these lunch times where she'd tell us stories and make us realize how much life has to offer. She was a true gem and will be grately missed.

Helen is still vivid in my memory even though I've been gone from Lowell for over ten years. She had a lively, passionate, and devoted spirit. May she long be remembered.

I will miss Helen. She brought light into a room with her smile, she loved teaching and it reflected in the ways she dealt with all of us. She was patient, kind, and always wished the best for us. As her family, please take comfort in the knowledge that she is safely in the hands of our Lord, and has left a great legacy in the countless lives she touched in the numerous classrooms of her life.

Her passionate conviction for education was exceptional & will live on through her students lives and through all of us who had the pleasure of sharing her philosophies as colleagues & as friends. As many others are, I am a better person for knowing her.

Our hearts mourn for the loss of a wonderful woman and our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this very difficult time. I taught with Ms. Houghton at Lowell for the last 10 years and she was my daughter's 8th grade Language Arts teacher. She was a woman of passion and service to community. She will be missed by all and we are all better because of Ms. Houghton's impact in our lives. May she find peace and comfort in the arms of our Lord.

My condolences to the family. Ms Houghton was an awesome person, I will truly miss her , all four of my children attended Lowell Middle School and in some form or another have come across her teaching and well concerns ffor them. I especially felt safe to drive up to the school and see her there just watching over all the kids as if they were her own. She was truly a blessing. May she rest in peace
