Helen Arlene Young

Helen Arlene Young (née Harkless), aged 81, passed away on August 5, 2024, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Born on February 5, 1943, in Ashtabula, Ohio, Helen was a loving person who dedicated her life to her family and her community.

Her and George married on June 16, 1962. They were married 62 years and together 66 years. They lived a life full of love and adventure with their children. They served several years as pastors and missionaries. Helen loved the Lord with all of her heart and was a steadfast prayer warrior.

Throughout her career, Helen worked as a nurse's aide, beginning in nursing homes before transitioning to private duty. Her compassion and dedication to caring for others were evident in her professional life.

Helen loved cooking, baking, gardening, crocheting, and various crafts, which brought joy not only to her but also to those around her. Her love for her family was immense, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her & George often hosted their kids' friends or neighbor kids. Their house was always the "go to" place.

She is survived by her husband, George Young; children, Rebecca Miller (Steve), Edd Young (Kayela), and Jonathan Young; grandchildren, Roy Keckler (Morgan), Nathan Miller (Bethany), Preston Young, Nora Young, Bear Young, Kota Young, and Steve Miller (Kathy); along with several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Susan Harkless; children, George Young Jr., Martin Young, Mark Young, and three unnamed children; and grandchildren, Jason Young and Teresa Young.

Helen will be cremated, and a celebration of her life will be announced in the near future. The Mountain View Funeral Home in Mountain View, AR, is assisting the family during this time. Helen's legacy of love, care, and joy will forever be cherished and remembered by those who knew her.
