Henry Marczak, 70, answered his mother’s call to Come Home on Wednesday February 2, 2023. Henry was born on November 1, 1952, in Meriden CT to Henry W. and Janet Marczak. Henry was educated in the Wallingford School system. Henry’s mother was part of a group of parents who advocated for special needs children to receive more supports in the community. She was part of the vision that created The ARC of Meriden. Henry was fortunate to receive over 60 years of care and support from The ARC, in his own home, and the family remains forever grateful.
Henry was a gentle soul who put the spark of joy in everyone’s life. He enjoyed watching classic TV shows, gazing at the moon, Lawrence Welk, listening to his Polka music on Sundays, and ice cream sundaes. He was a devoted Patriots and Red Sox fan, and enjoyed cheering loud and proud for his team with his family. Henry enjoyed grabbing a treat from McDonalds and visiting his favorite places: going over the bridge to Newport, Hubbard Park, the railroad tracks to watch the trains, and Mystic Aquarium. He was a faithful parishioner of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Henry is greeted in Heaven by his mother Janet, his father Henry Walter, and his uncles Gene, Stanley, and John. He leaves behind his sister Christine Preuit, of Portsmouth RI, who provided exceptional care to her brother in his later years. In addition to his sister, “Uncle Henio” will be greatly missed by his two best friends; nephew Craig Preuit (Mary Beth) of Providence RI, and niece Kim Lowman (Travis) of East Granby, CT. Henry is also survived by his great nephews Dylan, Xavier, Maxwell, Henry, Finnegan, and William, and lots of extended family and friends The family would like to thank Tammy and Linda from DDS and Henry’s personal caregivers Robert and Robin, in addition to the staff at MidState Medical Center, Kimberly Hall North and Ryan with Beacon Hospice. Thank you for helping us to make Henry’s final years saturated with loving care and happiness.
Henry’s family will receive family and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext. on Sunday, February 5, 2023 from 9 am until 10 am. His funeral will follow at 10 am in the funeral home. Interment will be in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Wallingford. In lieu of donations, put on your favorite pair of pajama pants, grab a Coca-Cola, and spend time with your family. We promise to always let your light shine. We’ll miss you, Mush!

My deepest heartfelt sympathy goes out to all whom God has blessed with the presence of Henry "Henio" in their lives. God has blessed people such as Henio with his own perfect love, Agape Love. Just as God does, Henio gave his own love unconditionally, expecting nothing in return but to see the look of pure joy on our faces. Henio's smile shown like the beacon of a lighthouse beckoning us home to the safety of his love. The greatest tribute we can pay Henio is to emulate his love and pay it forward to others in our lives with a friendly "hello", a smile or even a nod of our head in recognition of that person. As for me, every family member holds their own special place in my memories, but Henio will always be the light of pure love in our family. I can think of no greater life lesson than to remember Henio and even try to emulate his love.
