METTING HENRY J. "HANK"
Henry left this world peacefully on Thursday, December 31, 2015, after a very full life surrounded by his family and those who loved him. Loving husband of Joann Augustine Metting; beloved father of Frederick Joseph (Michele) Metting and Erika Kristl Metting; loving grandfather "Upa" of Jerry, Michael, Abigail and Gabriel; beloved brother of Maureen (Al) Smith and the late Jerry (Marilyn) Metting; brother-in-law of James (Rose) Augustine and Rose Marie (Clem) Rodgers; also many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; son of the late Henry and Rose (McCann) Metting. Henry retired as a fire captain after 34 years for the City of Pittsburgh Fire Department. The following 18 years of retirement, he enjoyed his life to the fullest working outside, enjoying his model trains, loving his grandchildren to pieces and celebrating his German heritage. He spent his life taking care of many people, especially those he loved. Henry was the family patriarch and the king of Hanover St. He will be in our hearts forever until we are together again. Friends received Sunday and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the JAMES J. BARRY JR. FUNERAL HOME, INC., 608 E. Warrington Ave. Funeral Prayers Tuesday at 9 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Vianney Church at 10 a.m.
