Herschel Sheets was a wonderful minister and helped me through the years to have a greater appreciation for the history of our United Methodist Church and especially our North Georgia Conference. He was a great, caring man!

Herschel H. Sheets was a dear friend of my father Rudy Baker, my mother Jimmie Baker and my step mother Martha-Farr Baker. It was the Rev.Herschel Sheets who sat with our family and offered prayers and encouragement during Dads open heart surgery and provided comforting words following the loss of my parents. His publication, The Beginnings of Methodism in England, gave me a deeper appreciation of our faith and provided an excellent historical account of John Wesleys life and the experiences that shaped his ministry. You will be missed Herschel! Our thoughts and prayers are with the family as Gladys continues to struggle with her health. Rudolph Richard Baker III and family

I remember Herschel well when he was pastor of East Point UMC, and I cant think of a greater man who helped influence my early days as a United Methodist minister. What a huge influence he had on the work and accomplishments of the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church. I am so glad and blessed that I knew him.
