Howard Dyke, age 95, of Holland, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018.
He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp, serving during WWII. Howard retired from Dyke/Highland Construction after 40 years and built several churches, schools, and banks. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and time with his family. He was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church and a former member of Bethel Reformed Church, where he served as a Deacon, Elder, and Sunday School Teacher. Howard was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel (Timmer) Dyke; great grandson, Carter Dyke; sister, Juliet (Dyke) Van Faasen; brother-in-law, Jay Van Faasen; brother, Justin Dyke; sister-in-law, Kay (Dirkse) Dyke.
Surviving are his wife, Anita (Smith) (Branderhorst) Dyke of 33 years; son, Roger (Nancy) Dyke; daughter, Kathy (Ken) Westveld; grandchildren, Sue (Brian) Boldt and Steve (Heather) Dyke; great grandchildren, Justin, Emily, and Kyra; sister, Glady (Milton) Stekette; sister-in-law, Helen Van Doornik; stepchildren, Thomas Branderhorst and Cindy Crocell, Timothy (Christa) Branderhorst, Terry (Christine) Branderhorst, Todd (Sally) Branderhorst, and Tracy (Jan) Branderhorst; 12 step grandchildren and 11 step great grandchildren; nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday (December 5) at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1015 East 32nd Street, with Rev, Ken Klett officiating. Burial will be in North Holland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice.
Arrangements are by the Dykstra Funeral Home-Northwood Chapel.
