I have just found out this very sad news. He was a true friend with a lion’s heart and a genuine character to compliment it. He was my barrister in a court case in 1996 and he was more of a friend than my barrister. I visited Ian again around 2014 again a few times after that.... we had a beer together and spoke about life and his beloved father who passed away. I wrote him a poem about heaven where his Dad was. He read it with a tear in his eyes... he liked it and he told me that his father told him “ not to be too hard on himself”... Ian was An honest man with humility and such simplicity when he spoke. A rugby union fan and after he decided to stop smoking, I visited him again... his face glowed with health.
He had a great smile and so proud of his grand son, and wife... proud and happy.
May the Lord Jesus reward him with the same rewards that he rewarded others. I know that he deserves the best as Jesus is himself “ humble and meek”. Ian was that and truly intelligent and smart.
From a worldly perspective I miss his genuine friendship . Still cannot believe it. My sincere sympathies to his wife and his boys and grandchildren.
Ian and family are in my daily Divine Mercy prayers.
What a soul. Xxxx

I have just discovered this sad news. Ian was my brothers friend at uni Michael Moran. Ian visited me with Michael in hospital when I was 13 smuggling my poodle in a bag for a visit much to the horror of the nurses. I am now 64 years old and have never forgotten his kindness. Much love my friend. Trishaa Perrin nee Moran.
