We extend our sympathy to the entire family--we just found out this morning, while having breakfast with Thomas, about Ida's passing away. She was a wonderful lady and I always appreciated her friendship. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Even in extremely difficult times, God has assured us that "HE IS SUFFICIENT" to comfort and sustain us. God Bless!!

My husband "Richard Hampton "Hamp" Norris JR was so happy he finally met and got to know his first cousin several years before she died. When Ida Catherine's mother died, the Norris families wanted to adopt the children but were not allowed to do so by their father, therefore they lost contact with these dear children. Her mother was my husband's father's sister from Sumter SC. It was a great family re-union when they discovered they only lived a few miles apart in Florence. We fell in love with Edrie and Ida Catherine. They both resembled my husband and the Norris family with the thick dark hair and olive complexion. Hamp's 94 year old Aunt Teddy Robbs" (in Sumter) who died a few weeks ago was visited several times in the last few years by Edrie,Ida Catherine and Billy. This was a dream come true for her! Aunt Teddy told us her grandmother was Cherokee Indian and this is where the Norris dark hair and olive complexion originated from. As a result of my husband's interest in geneology he made one of the greatest discoveries of all times,RELATIVES who were lost and found to be kind, loving and united by an unbroken bond of heritage. We will miss Ida Catherine's smiles and wit. My younger daughter "Rebecca Norris Skelton" from Greenville, SC was so delighted to meet her 7 years ago when she attended my older daughter's(Joey Norris Fink) wedding. She visited Ida Catherine one time when she she was in the hospital. She came home crying because she said Ida Catherine looked just like her grand father from Sumter with same facial features and hair and skin coloring. That was Ida Catherine's uncle. It brought back memories of her grandfather who died about 10 years ago, that she so dearly loved. Our family will be praying for all of you in this great loss. Not until my father died did I really understand the "sting of death" mentioned the Bible. It is one of the worse pains I ever experienced. Without the love of Christ and the hope given to us by my Lord Jesus Christ. I could have never gotten through it. We love you.

My Gaga was my world! She was one of the only people who loved me for just being me.She raised me to be the woman I am today. She was my best friend and my mother. My heart will forever be broken without my Gaga. She was the most beautiful woman and I was truly blessed having her in my life. She will live now only in my heart and soul.Im lost without her. When my day has come I know I will see her again.I cant wait for that day just so I can see her beautiful face and feel her arms around me.I love you Gaga!!!!Thank you for all you have given me but most of all thank you for loving me and for being my Gaga.
