1927 - 2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing on December 25, 2015 of Ioannis Mavromatis, born in Filoti, Naxos, Greece. Predeceased by his beloved wife Maria. He will be greatly missed by his sons Stavros (Sophia), Bill (Amy); his grandchildren Yianni, Yianni and Stavro; his sisters Despina and Katina; and all his nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the staff of the cardiology unit of the Jewish General Hospital for their compassionate and professional care. Visitation will take place at the Urgel Bourgie Funeral Home at 1255 Avenue Beaumont, TMR, (514) 735-2025, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, December 28, 2015. The Funeral Service will be held at Saint George's Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2455, chemin-de-la-Côte-Sainte-Catherine, Montreal, on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Socrates Educational Foundation, 32 Creswell Street, Dollard des Ormeaux, Quebec, H9B 1W7.
