Irene QUINN Obituary

Published by Edmonton Journal on Aug. 30, 2016.
QUINN, Irene Elsie
June 16, 1924 – August 25, 2016
With great sadness, combined with a deep gratitude for a life so lovingly shared with others, we say goodbye for now. Irene leaves to cherish her memory, sons David (Anna), Allan (Gail) and Philip (Ann), grandchildren, Susan (Bill), Jennifer (Mark), Krista (Marcel), Ryan, Kevin (Ying), Sarah (Jason) and Nathan (Michelle), also great-grandchildren, Dustin, Kyle, Mason, Brady, Cloe and Jacob. She is also survived by her sister, Doris, and other family members in England. Irene was predeceased by her husband, Frank Quinn, her parents, Alice and William Creed, her sister, Joyce Waite, her granddaughter, Dorothy Grabowski and her great- granddaughter, Liberty Quinn.
Irene's spirit radiated peace, love and joy and she impacted the lives of others in a positive and meaningful way. Her sewing skills were amazing, she thoroughly enjoyed gardening and, above all, she loved to laugh and play cards with her family. A strong woman of faith, Irene was a living example of someone who led an authentic Christian life. The world is definitely a better place because of her loving presence and she will be missed dearly.
A celebration of Irene's life will take place on Friday, September 2 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Parish, 10004 - 101 St, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, with Father Francis Mariappa officiating. The family would like to extend their sincere and grateful thanks to Dr. Stecyk and all the staff and volunteers at Rivercrest Care Centre, who lovingly cared for Irene and always made her feel like an important member of their community. Donations may be made on behalf of Irene to the Fort Saskatchewan Food Gatherers Society (Box 3404, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta T8L 2T3), where Irene volunteered for a number of years.

Dear Phil, Ann and family,

We just found out about Irene's passing and would like to express our condolences on your loss. We did not share a lot of time with Irene, but we found her to be engaging and full of life. In speaking of their travels out west to visit you, Mom and Dad often spoke of the enjoyable times they spent with Irene. We will keep her in our prayers.

Irene was an inspiration to all, full of love and faith, and such a fun lady to be around. Her cheeriness was felt by all, especially at her work, volunteering or parish activities. Irene was instrumental in the success of the Cornanza, an annual fall garage sale held at OLA parish during the nineties. Irene's family was paramount to her. May our friendship and prayers ease you through this difficult time.
