IRIS GOOSLIN
WILLIIAMSON, W.Va. — Iris Stallard Gooslin, age 78, of Williamson, passed away Saturday. March 5, 2016, at Pikeville Medical Center. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 11, at First Baptist Church in Williamson, where she has been an active member since the age of 14.
Iris was born on February 17, 1938, to the late Walter and Minerva Hatfield Stallard. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Truman Leo Gooslin.
She was in the 1958 graduating class of Williamson High School.
A loving and devoted wife and mother to her two daughters, who carried the key to her heart: Lisa Gooslin McFadden (Vern) of Greensboro, N.C., and Peggy Gooslin Wolford (Jimmy) of Forest Hills, Ky.; two grandchildren: Jessica McFadden Gibson of Charlotte, N.C., and Jessie Wolford who is serving in the US Navy in Washington State.
Three siblings preceded her in death: Walter Stallard, Douglas Stallard and Howard Stallard. Remaining siblings are Glen Stallard of Xenia, Ohio, Herbert Stallard (Della) of New Carlisle Ohio, Bernard Stallard and Orrin Baisden, both of St. George, Utah, Ronnie Stallard of New Carlisle, Clemmie Pohl of Las Vegas, Nev., Ollie Scott of Spring Hill, Tenn., Mable Dague (Tom) of New Carlisle and Ruth Bevins (Carl) of Waterford, Mich. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Francis Stallard and Mae O'Brien Stallard. Others left to cherish her memories are nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Iris never met a stranger. She has recently been described as the epitome of a Christian and a "pocket person" — someone you wanted to carry around in your pocket to make you feel special! She was actively involved in her community. She lived her life not for herself, but to give herself away to others. If you're reading this, the Lil' Teapot loved you!
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Thursday evening, March 10, at R.E. Rogers Funeral Home and request that memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church, 506 Harvey Street, Williamson, WV 25661.

Aunt Iris, we miss you and love you so very much! You were one of two of the sweetest ladies I've ever met. I am blessed to say I knew you. You were very accepting and loving, even from the first time we met. I will forever remember our conversations and the way you said I love you in your sweet voice. I am forever grateful for Brian Jr and Mabel Dague introducing you to me. Rest in heaven sweet Lil teapot. I am praying for my fiancee's family as we all heal from our loss, may Peggy and Lisa know how much they are loved! God bless you all! Until we meet again, Brian Jr, Melanie and your angel babies!

Iris was such a sweet friend to all of us, but her WHS Alumni buddies will miss her - she was the good will ambassador for us. I personally will miss her telling me that she loved me and she would see me soon. Fly high, sweet lady, see you over yonder.
