Isabel GORMAN Obituary
On Saturday, January 10, 2015, Isabel Gorman of Edmonton died at the age of 88 years.
She was predeceased by husband Gerald C. Gorman on October 2, 2008, and is survived by children Maureen (Jim Knowles), Douglas (Jane), and Kathleen (Mike Bowman) and grandchildren: Caitlyn, Patrick, and Meghan Knowles, Evelyn and Nial Gorman, Nicholas and Georgia Bowman.
Born on a farm near current day Devon to John S. Halwa and Victoria Galenza, Isabel also leaves sisters Adeline Goddard, Lorna Pasemco, and Gloria Davidson surviving her. She cherished her large extended family of Halwa relatives, as well as the numerous relations of her husband, and the many friends she and Gerald made in the communities and parishes where they were active during their life together.
In recent years Isabel resided at Rosedale Estates, benefitting greatly from the dedication of the 5th floor staff, and particularly the loving care of her companion, Sally Boyke.
A Prayer Service will be held 7:30 p.m. Monday, January 12, 2015 at Connelly- McKinley Funeral Home 10011-114 Street, Edmonton. Reverend Mitch Fidyka will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Assumption Catholic Church, 9040-95 Avenue, Edmonton. Inurnment at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Nisku will follow at a later date.
Memorial Donations in memory of Isabel may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Alberta & NWT, 10531 Kingsway Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5H 4K1.
