Jacqueline Loper

Jacqueline "Jackie" Loper passed away on December 30, 2024 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Born on December 2, 1959 in Philadelphia to Harold Loper, Sr and Doris Loper both now deceased. Jackie was a lifelong resident of Philadelphia.

She attended Mann Elementary and Beeber Junior High school before graduating from Germantown High school in 1977. She later pursued studies at Temple University. Jackie also studied piano at Settlement Music School in Germantown.

Jackie began her distinguished career with the federal government with the Social Security Administration in 1979. Over her 35 years of federal service, she held numerous positions including RAC Clerk, Benefits Authorizer, Post Entitlement Technical Expert, Claims Authorizer, Assistant Manager, Training Manager and Module Manager. Jackie retired in 2014 with deep respect from colleagues who admired her leadership, guidance, dedication and kindness.

Her passions extended far beyond work. Jackie loved traveling. She visited Hawaii, California and cruising to the Carribean. She had a creative spirit expressed through needlepoint, jewelry making and embroidery. Jackie also enjoyed watching television shows such as Magnum P.I, Hill Street Blues, New York Undercover, Dynasty, Dallas, Knots Landing, Martin, and General Hospital.

Music and concerts were another love...Luther Vandross, Barbara Streisand, Bette Midler, Maurice White and Earth, Wind and Fire, George Michael, the Doobie Brothers and Keith Washington. Jackie was always able to the best seats in the house!

Sports was a passion as well...Football, Baseball and Basketball. She loved the Philadelphia Eagles especially Jalen Hurts.

Jackie was a devoted daughter and sister who lovingly cared for her parents and one brother, Harold Loper, Jr who predeceased her in June 2024. She was also a caring Godmother to her Godchildren.

Known for her intelligence, kindness, generosity, as well as her honesty, Jackie left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of friends and former colleagues who cherished her presence and spirit. May her life be celebrated with gratitude for all the joy she brought into the world.
