James G. Armstrong

James G. Armstrong, 59, of Rockland, Maine, passed away on July 10, 2025, surrounded by his beloved wife, Jamie, and her mother, Wanda, and stepfather, John LaCombe, whom he lovingly called Mom and Dad.

James was born on August 7, 1965, in Bangor, Maine, and was raised in Belfast by his mother, Irene L. Keene. He was known for his big heart, playful teasing, and his unmatched ability to make people laugh. He had a natural charm and warmth that drew people in and made them feel at ease.

He was diagnosed with leukemia in 2023 and faced his illness with courage and resilience.

Throughout his life, James worked hard and formed meaningful connections wherever he went. He worked at Stinson Seafood in Belfast before moving on to MBNA, which later became Bank of America, where he worked for many years until his health declined.

He loved the simple joys of life: helping Jamie with puzzles, playing mobile games, watching YouTube videos, sipping his Pepsi and going on rides or shopping trips. He had a special fondness for Dalmatians, often sharing their photos on social media, and he enjoyed listening to Charley Pride.

James was predeceased by his mother, Irene L. Keene, whom he loved deeply; his sister, Laura Keene; and his uncles Ernest, Linden, John, and Royace Keene, along with his aunts Elaine Joseph, Evelyn Reece and Edith Langer.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of almost 17 years, Jamie Armstrong; his brother, Eric Ginnish; three other siblings; his aunts, Chris Keene and Marilyn Jones; Jamie's mother, Wanda, and stepfather, John LaCombe; and a large extended family of cousins and loved ones who will carry his memory forward.

A graveside service for close family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Grove Cemetery in Belfast, Maine. There will be no planned gathering or reception following the service.
