JAMES DUHON Obituary

Visit the Legacy Remembers website to view the full obituary.
Usually, an obituary has an expectation, a "protocol" which starts with where you were born and started life. For "Jim" it wasn't where he started life that had meaning, it was "the life" that meant the most. He wasn't your normal man for mainstream expectations. Jim was passionate about four things: Family-Fly Fishin'-Music-Work. He worked hard to provide a safe life for his kids he so loved. He gave them the base they needed to grow and be great adults. They will be successful in life because of that love he had for them. His children Mardi, James, and Josie will dearly miss him all the days of their lives.
Music rang in him for all his life. Singing-DJ-Guitar - it was always a part of him, and he gave it to anyone he knew.
Fly fishin'! Jim shared his love of tying flies to many. He passed this gift to his son, nephews, grandson, and it has been played forward to many others. Jim out-hiked many of us on a trail to find "that" trout. He will be fishin' now, always.
Jim settled in Bakersfield to be close to his family after he traveled the world for the oil industry. He worked many years for TIC in Bakersfield. He loved his work and the people he was surrounded by. He was great at what he did. Unknowingly, Jim has left his mark there in a great way. We, his family, appreciate how TIC loved him.
Jim left us suddenly on October 14th. His loving mother, Ruby Duhon, preceded him in death. Surviving family includes his father, John Duhon; daughter, Mardi (Mike) Courtright; son, James; daughter, Josie; brother, Andy (Julie) Duhon; sister, Cissy (Chris) Clark; nephew, Joe (Joanna) Duhon; nephew, Justin (Vanessa) Duhon; nephew, Mathew (Leah) Duhon; and niece, Ashley Ansolabehere. Plus grandchildren, Kaitlin and Austin; stepchildren, Rudy and Ari; son, Joshua Duhon, and so many more. We hope you join us to celebrate his life.
Visitation will be Friday, October 21st, 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and service Saturday, October 22nd at 11:00 a.m. both being held at the Celebration of Life Center, 2739 Panama Lane.
