James Hall Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 31, 2025.
James Walter "Jim" Hall, 69, passed away on July 22, 2025, in Gloucester, Virginia. Born on April 7, 1956, in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, Jim lived a life marked by curiosity, energy, and an enduring passion for collecting the things that sparked his interest.

Jim was the beloved son of W. Ronald Hall and Doris M. Hall, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also predeceased by his daughter Kinsey Alexis Hall and his sister Linda Byler. His memory lives on through his sons: James H. Hall of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Jesse J. Hall and his wife, Nicole of King George, Virginia; and Gerrad G. Hall and his fiancé, Diedra, along with his ten grandchildren whom he loved dearly. He is also remembered by his siblings: Katherine (Kay) Leidy; Ronald "Pork" Hall and his wife, Tina; John Hall and his wife, Vicki; and Roger Hall and his wife, Rhoda.

A man who refused to retire in the traditional sense, Jim remained active throughout his life. He was known for staying busy-always tinkering, fixing, or finding something new to explore. He could often be heard stating, "I can fix anything," but was quick to set aside his own projects to help others with theirs. A self-proclaimed "collector of things," Jim's interests were as wide-ranging as they were passionate. From sports memorabilia to automobiles, chainsaws to tractors, books to movies-and tools beyond counting-his collections reflected a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and history.

Jim had a keen eye for a good deal and never missed an opportunity to attend a Pennsylvania tractor show or the Carlisle Auto Flea Market. These events were more than hobbies-they were traditions that brought him joy and connection with others who shared his enthusiasm.

His presence will be deeply missed by those who knew him best-his family, friends, and all who shared in the many facets of his vibrant life.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.

Jim will be missed by so many! He was our brother and we loved him very much. One of my favorite memories of Jim: "But that would kill a cat." IYKYK.

Jim will definitely be missed. Anytime we needed something fixed or help with something, he would be the one to call. A lifelong friend, and genuine great guy. Never hesitated to help any way he could. And, "Look at the size of that white oak"!!!
