JAMES HOUGHTON Obituary

Published by Nanaimo Daily News from Jan. 3 to Jan. 5, 2015.
Predeceased by his parents Faye and Garry. He leaves to mourn with great sadness Charlene, whom he loved dearly, daughter Natanis (Ian Simpson), granddaughter Alyla, son Lindon (Martina Carriere), their sister Brandi, grandsons Jesse & Ryker, brothers Corey and Peter, Jamie's sister Christina Larsen & brother Craig Houghton (Jane), aunties, uncles, nephews, nieces & his many friends. Jamie enjoyed sports and Keno, the Wheatsheaf Pub, anything to do with the water, music, dancing, politics and his work. He wore his colours on his sleeve, was charismatic & was the teller of tales in his booming voice. He was always there for a friend and he loved his family. There is an empty quiet here, as his journey of star travel has begun. XO.

A celebration of life was held Saturday, January 3 at Cedar Hall.

You were that one guy you meet who instantly became your friend. We had some crazy times with Frajmans, Watson to name a few. Just found this out since I moved away in 96. You will always hold a special place in my heart.

I am going to miss my very good friend, Jamie. It was an honour for me to share some stories and experiences we had growing up as part of the "Garner Crescent Gang" at your Celebration of Life. RIP

Soar soar, beyond imagining
Soar past the softest cloud
Upon the breath of all our love
Past the planets and up to the stars
Your journey has begun, with gentle happiness, you soar
Above this universe and beyond the hands of time
The moon will rise, the sun will set
We who are here will never forget
Soar soar, star travel now and show us your light
So we may always see you in the dark of the night....

With love always Charlene xo

To my dear friend Jamie,I bid a very fond farewell, to the man who could tell stories with the best of them. At work or play you couldn't get thru the day without sharing a laugh. His carefree exuberance and spontaneity were appreciated by those who knew him in La Ronge.Enjoy your journey. Your friend til the end... Greg Jmaeff

So sorry to hear this. Have not seen Jamie in 35 years or so. A large group hung out in our teen years and I have good memories of fun times.
