James M. Leal, 73, formerly of Auburn, died Thursday, January 3rd in the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center. His wife, Doris J. (Cousineau) Leal died in 1993. He leaves 5 sons, Steven A. Leal of Charlton, Michael J. Leal of Barre, John F., James P., and Dennis P. Leal all of Scottsdale, AZ; a brother, Jack Leal of Bridgewater; a sister, Nancy Leal of Huntington Beach, CA; 7 grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. A brother, Edward Leal predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester, the son of Arthur and Eva (Barron) Leal and graduated from the former High School of Commerce. Mr. Leal was employed by Union Hall for many years as a glazier. He was a U.S. Marine veteran and served during the Korean Conflict, for which he received a purple heart. Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements.
