You may talk of Welles and Brando,
but all Foodsters in the land know
Only one guy ate it up and ate it all.
If you were making steak or chili
or your beef stew was a dilly
there was always one good fellow you could call:
It was Jim, Jim, Jim-- that limping lump of pure appreciation.
Every bakery in the nation,
and cooks without hesitation,
loved their Regimental Foodster, Mongo Jim!

We remember like a bright dream
He brought home Rocky Road ice cream
and a bag of candy bars just for good measure.
But every jigsaw that he puzzled,
and the Fanta pop he guzzled,
are just memories now that we will always treasure.
Yes, it was Jim, Jim, Jim--
that Steeler-loving Fan from Pittsburgh Town!
He was BIG as Old Joe Green,
but he was never half as Mean,
and he would always help you up if you were down.

Yes, it was Jim, Jim, Jim--
our Regimental Foodster tried and true.
We will meet him later on,
in the Better Place he's gone,
in That Place where you'll meet me and I'll meet you.
Now let's raise a cup and cheer,
so that all the world can hear,
and we'll ring it loud as if it were a Hymn--
Though afflictions have waylayed him,
by the Living God that made him,
he's a better man than I am,
Mongo Jim!

(Rest In Peace, Big Fella! See you up yonder. . . .)

My heart is so sad on the passing of a dear friend. I regret not keeping in touch as much as I should have in these last few years. We get so wrapped up in mundane daily tasks that sometimes the most important things in life are not done. I will miss you always Jim and we will meet again on the other side!
Love, your friend, Shirley Olejarz

Although I have not seen my Uncle Jim in several years, I have many memories of Steeler Sundays with him and my father. Say hello to my dad for me Jim!!
For the children, God Bless you in your time of sorrow.

I was so sad to lose my dear friend, Jim. We worked side by side at North Hills Community Outreach for the past 9 years. Volunteering there will not be the same without him. He will always be remembered. My prayers are with him and his family. May he rest in peace. I love you Jim

I volunteered with your Dad at North Hills Community Outreach for many years on Tuesdays. It won't be the same without him there every Tuesday. He was a very kind and nice man and spoke highly of his children and grandchildren. Know that you are all in my prayers at this very difficult time. God bless you all.
