James Lytle Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 2, 2022.
James Jefferey Lytle passed away peacefully on November 16, 2022. He was raised on Prince St. in Downers Grove, IL. He was a dinosaur expert and an avid Star Wars fan growing up. James was a life-long Cubs fan and traveled all over to see his team play, including Game 7 of the World Series in Cleveland in 2016. He loved all kinds of music and could recite the lyrics to almost every song from the 1980s onward. He adored his rescue dogs, Pinky, Bandito and Jenny and was involved with Feline and Canines rescue center. He was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School in Westchester and maintained many close friendships from those years. He was a loving father to Collin Lytle, Connor Lytle, and Madison Lytle; beloved son of James Lytle Sr. and Amy Lytle; dear older brother to Brigette Lytle, Paul (Jennifer) Lytle, Timothy Lytle; Steven (Jaclyn) Lytle, and Michelle (Robyn) Lytle; uncle to many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed. There will be a memorial mass on December 20th and a celebration of his life in the spring during Cubs season. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Felines and Canines. felinescanines.org

There are many memories I can share of Jim, but the statue of limitations has not run out yet. I will always treasure my friendship with Jim, and the memories we shared together from our youth, the times we worked together, the socializing, Jim Carey, the cars, the cubs, the young lady chatterley, gladiolus, fire hydrants, brochures, and the list goes on. Most important was his love for his children and his family. May his memory be eternal.

Unforgetable memories though so many years. To watch all of the kids on Prince street grow up together with particular closeness to The Lytle family. My condolences to you all. I care about you all so dearly!
