James Patton Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 31, 2025.
James Bernard "Jim" Patton, 70, passed away on June 22, 2025, in Fort Myers, Florida. Born on July 1, 1954, in Highland Park, Michigan, Jim lived a life marked by dedication to his profession, a deep love for his family, and a passion for the outdoors and vintage technology.

Jim earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Paper Technology from Western Michigan University. He later pursued and completed an MBA at Cal Poly Pomona, further strengthening his expertise and leadership in his field. His professional career spanned many years as an engineer in the paper industry. He also specialized in industrial safety and environmental compliance-areas where he made meaningful contributions through his commitment to responsible practices and workplace well-being.

Outside of his professional life, Jim was known for his active lifestyle and curious mind. He enjoyed running, biking, and hiking-activities that reflected his appreciation for nature and physical vitality. He also had a unique hobby of collecting and restoring antique radios, combining technical skill with a love for history and craftsmanship.

Jim was a devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his former wife Kathleen (Meeth) Patton; two sons, Raymond Patton and Douglas Patton; and five grandchildren who brought him great joy. He also leaves behind two brothers, David Patton and Martin Patton; and two sisters, Deborah Carls and Karen Poloski.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Patton and Mary Ames.

Jim's legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the many lives he touched through both his work and personal passions. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
