James Shindler, beloved husband of Elsie Shindler of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2013 at the age of 80 years. James is survived by his loving wife of sixty years Elsie; three sons Robert, Ronald, and Garry Shindler; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, three sisters, and his son, Charles Shindler. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to Calgary Health Trust – Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Suite 800, 11012 Macleod Trail S.E., Calgary, AB T2J 6A5 (Phone 403-943-0615, www.thetrust.ca). Special thanks to the doctors and staff of Unit 93 of Rockyview Hospital.

Not a day goes by that I do not miss my Grandpa. I am the man I am today by emulating him, even though he never knew. I wished I could have told him, I wanted to every time we met. But he was always so quiet and ever twiddling his thumbs that I was unable to break that image.
He deserved more at the end, more than I could give. And I hope he knew, at the very least that he was loved, admired and will always be remembered. At the very least by me.
