JAMES VINING Obituary
VINCENNES, IN — James Madison Vining passed away peacefully at his home in Vincennes, Indiana at 5:15 AM. His beloved daughter, Martha Vining Meeks, was immediately at his side. Martha had cared for him and her late mother for many years.
James (Jimmy) was born December 10, 1913, the son of George Wiley Vining and Rhoda Corbett Vining of Willacoochee, GA. He served honorably in WWII in France, Italy and North Africa and married his lovely wife of 65 years, Willie Maness.
Later, Jimmy worked many years for Burlington Industries. Jimmy will be remembered by friends as an avid bass fisherman, generous neighbor, and always loved for his wry sense of humor.
Jimmy is survived by his loving daughter, Martha Vining Meeks, her husband Harry Meeks and his precious grandaughters, Molly and Melanie Meeks, and many relatives and friends.
A memorial service is planned at a later date in the Spring. At that time, the family will receive in Greensboro.
