JAMES F.
84, of McMurray, PA, formerly of Upper St. Clair, and Chairman of Interstate Equipment Corp. in Castle Shannon, died on Wednesday, November 6, 2013. Son of the late Leo J., Sr. and May V. Casey Vogel; beloved husband for 51 years of Mary P. "Pat" Murphy Vogel; devoted father of James L. (Christine) Vogel, John F. (Beth) Vogel, Mary Ellen (Paul) Gasior, Carol (Kevin) Sproule, Michael J. (Jean) Vogel, Katherine (John) Haggerty, Richard A. (Amy) Vogel and Suzanne Elizabeth Vogel; loving grandfather of Casey and Erinn Vogel, Caterina Vogel, Grace Gasior, Patrick, Ryan, William and Anna Sproule, Mari, Meghan and Christopher Vogel, Shane, Mae and Brendan Haggerty, Daniel, Natalie, Brady and Gabriel Vogel; brother of the late Leo J. "Bro" Vogel, Jr. and the late Mary Kelly; brother-in-law of Joseph Kelly and the late Barbara Vogel; also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and loyal friends. Jim was a 1947 graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School and graduated from Notre Dame University in 1951 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. Friends will be received at LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon on SUNDAY from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral Mass in St. Louise de Marillac Church, Monday at NOON (Everyone please meet at church). Interment with Military Honors will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. It is the wish of the family that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Family Hospice and Palliative Care, 50 Moffett St., Pittsburgh, PA 15243.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the Vogel family. We remember him as a sweet and kind man. I remember our SLS high school days and kids coming and going to/from the Vogel home. He was always so welcoming to all of us. Prayers and condolences to the Vogel family.
