James Ziegenfelder Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 17, 2023.

ZIEGENFELDER, James Alfred; of Clarkston; passed away unexpectedly due to a car accident on February 4, 2023; age 72. Loving husband of Barbara for 51 years. Beloved father of Kelly Ziegenfelder and Scot (Amanda) Ziegenfelder. Proud grandpa of Isla and Maxon.

Jim worked his way up at General Motors from the mailroom while attending night school and graduating from Lawrence Technological University. Jim retired after 36 ½ years of service as a Marketing and Sales Manager. Jim was one of the kindest people you could hope to be around. He always had a way to put a smile on your face, even if it was from a patented “bad” dad joke. No matter what he was going through, he always put others first. He loved sitting on the porch and talking with family and friends. He loved visiting with his Grand Children and Grand Animals.

Memorial visitation will be held on Friday May 19, 2023 from 11:30 am until the Memorial service at 12:30 pm at Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston.

Memorials may be made to Michigan Humane Society.

While looking for another obituary, I came across this one. Immediate sadness! Rick and I both have such wonderful memories of Jim (and Barb too). Even with the limited time we’d spend together, I was always glad to see Jim on my schedule. He was such a kind and happy man! I have thought of him often since our last meeting. I remember casually asking if he’d had any medical changes since his last visit, expecting to hear maybe an adjustment in medication or other boring detail. Not with Jim. There always seemed to be a story of some crazy happening in the last 6 months (bee stings resulting in anaphylaxis, getting his hand slammed repeatedly in the car door). He could tell a good story and I always wished we were just having tea together so I could continue to listen instead of delving into my work. He will continually be missed. Our deepest sympathies to Barb. Much love, Heidi

Saddened by the tragic news. Our memories of the "lunches" with Dan and Sue and the trip to Branson still cause a smile. Prayers for comfort and healing.

Jim and Barb were a loving couple. They always had smiles for me, and I loved hearing about Puddles. I'm very saddened for this tragic loss. May Barb's healing be graced knowing that "death ends a life, not a relationship."

Jim was such a kind and caring man . It was my privilege to work with Jim for many years; he asked for little and always gave much! Heartbreaking news, prayers for you all and for Barb’s rapid recovery.

Jim was my first boss at AC-Delco back in 1978. He was an amazing person to work for and I have never forgotten his many kindnesses to me over the years. I can still remember the baby shower the 14th floor at the Ren Cen threw for he and Barb. May Jim's light continue to shine through Barb and his children and grandchildren. God bless you and give you strength as you walk this journey.

Jim was a gem. I worked around him for 25 years. He was one of those guys that you were always glad to see and he treated you the same way. People like Jim are rare these days so although I'm very sad to see him depart. I know he's in God's hands and in a wonderful place. We will see him again some day.
