Jane Lande Obituary
Peacefully, at home in Stowe, Vermont, on Tuesday, August 2, 2011. Beloved wife of Eric Lande. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Nancy and Arthur Stampleman, and sister-in-law of Neil, Ruth, and Margo and Karen. Daughter of the late Thelma and the late George Scott, and daughter-in-law of the late Mildred and the late Bernard Lande. Stepdaughter of Hazel Scott. She will be remembered with love by her family, and all who knew her. Jane counted her blessings, dwelt on the good, and took each day as it came. Funeral service will take place at the Jewish Community of Greater Stowe, 1189 Cape Cod Road, Stowe, VT 05672, on Friday, August 5 at 1 p.m. Burial at the Jewish Community of Greater Stowe Cemetery. The family will be receiving visitors at her home, on Sunday, August 7, from 3 to 6 p.m. Contributions in Jane's memory may be made to "Guiding Eyes for the Blind", 1(800) 942-0149, or visit www.guidingeyes.org , or to "Dragonheart Vermont", (802) 434-4423, or visit www.dragonheartvermont.org .

Jane was a lovely lady, she was easy to like, love and respect...a good cousin.

Jane and I were very good friends in the 50's. We would meet every Saturday morning and go to Junior Cong at Shaar Hashomayim. Then my mother and father were Jane's neighbours in Ottawa and bought Kosher maple syrup from Eric. And then we spoke after many years at the wonderful Scott reunion in Vermont and said that we should renew our friendship. However, last summer I was in New Jersey and Hazel and I spoke of Jane. She knew of our friendship years ago and urged me to call her. I did. Jane immediately put me at ease with an ironic, I'm fine...sort of!!

I only met Jane a few times but her inner wisdom, beauty and kindness stood out. She was a courageous woman.
