Jane Matney

Jane Matney, age 75 of Higginsville, Missouri died on Monday, December 6, 2010, at Carmel Hills Nursing Facility in Independence, Missouri. Born Tuesday, May 7, 1935 in Higginsville, she was the daughter of the late John Welborn and the late Dorothy Helt Welborn. She married Herbert C. Matney who preceded her in death December 24, 1970. Also preceded in death is a son, Sammy Matney, a brother, John E. Welborn, and a sister, Janet L. Welborn. She was a member of Community of Christ Church, Odessa, Missouri. Jane worked as a Housekeeper at the Higginsville Habilitation Center, retiring in 1990. She lived most of her life in Higginsville. Surviving are daughter, Ann (Gary) Jones of Blue Springs, Missouri; two grandchildren, Shanna (Kevin) Long, Jason (Kate) Jones; four great grandchildren, Alyssa & Kaleb Long; Cameron Jones, Grant Jones. A Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, December 10, 2010 at Hoefer Chapel, 1600 Main, Higginsville. Interment will be in Lexington Memory Gardens, Lexington, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. on Friday, at Hoefer Chapel. Memorial contributions may be sent to Heartland Hospice.
