Jane Elizabeth McNally

Mill Creek - Jane Elizabeth McNally, formerly of Louisville, KY and Phoenixville, PA, passed away April 21, 2025, at her home in Mill Creek, WA, at the age of 80. She was the daughter of Francis Robert Carothers, Sr., and Alice Jane Carothers. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1962 and, after raising three children, returned to school at the University of Louisville, obtaining her bachelor's degree in business administration in 1992. She was retired from First Data Corporation (now Fiserv) after having previously worked for the Jefferson County Attorney's Office. She enjoyed exploring caves, for which her small stature made her particularly well-suited, and was a past member of the Louisville Grotto of the National Speleological Society and the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club. She was also an avid and expert quilter, and enjoyed hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and traveling, especially walking tours of the English and Scottish countryside. She was a survivor of breast cancer and, later in life, lung cancer. She is survived by her children, Robert of Louisville, KY, Karen Upson (Mark) of Mercer Island, WA and Joseph (Gabrielle) of Albany, OR, her grandchildren Ava, Luke, Sam, and Frances (Frankie), her sisters Kathy Geoffroy, Susan Denny, and nine nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Carothers, Jr.

A funeral mass will be held at 11am on August 14 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Snohomish, WA.
