Jane Westcott

Jane E. Westcott passed away peacefully on Monday, January 13, 2025, in Melbourne, FL. She was born on May 25, 1937, in Bangor, Maine, to the late Polly Turner and Alden Davis.

Jane had an extraordinary career in leadership roles with Cancer Centers around the world, including Saudi Arabia, California, New Mexico, Virginia, and Maine. She dedicated her life to advancing cancer treatments with a focus on discovering new pathways, algorithms, and procedures to benefit patients. Even after retirement, she continued this work as a consultant, driven by her passion for making a difference.

While in Virginia, Jane met Edmund Westcott, the love of her life. Together, they shared over 30 beautiful years, traveling the world and building a fulfilling life together-- eventually, making the Sunshine State their home. Although Jane's professional achievements were remarkable, her favorite role was being a grandmother to Erica and Angela, a title she truly cherished.

Jane will be remembered for her contagious laugh, infinite stories, lust for life, significant achievements, volunteer work, dedication to health and fitness, and hilariously creative gift giving. She was a vibrant presence at social events, who she spent with her many wonderful friends, and was fiercely proud of her country. Jane was once honored with the "Republican of the Year" award in her district and was an active volunteer for military and veteran organizations. She contributed over 25 years of service as a respected volunteer and member at Patrick Space Force Base.

Jane is survived by her sisters, Janice Emerson, Marilyn Askew, Barbara Oliveira, and Brenda McLaughlin, along with their families, her brothers, Craig Turner and Peter Davis, and his wife Dottie. She also leaves behind her son: David Commeau and his wife Lois, other family members include, Elaine Commeau, Linda and Joseph Rotella. Her grandchildren, Erica and Robert Picerno, Angela Commeau and Rickey DeLoge, Jamie Nickerson, Bethani and Anthony Angell, and great grandchildren, Nastassja and Drezden DeLoge, who will forever carry her legacy.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to Jane's longtime primary care physician and dear friend, Dr. Rebecca Hunton of Indialantic, FL, and the dedicated team at St. Francis Reflections Life Stage Care in Melbourne.
