Janet Rose Keim, age 81 of Nappanee, IN, died at 5:28 am on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. She was born on August 7, 1941 in Milford Junction, IN to Don and Goldie (Waggoner) Deter. On December 14, 1957 she married Alfred Keim in Churubusco, IN and she lived her entire life in the Nappanee area. Janet was very crafty and loved shopping and cooking. Above all else, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Alfred Keim of Nappanee; 4 children: Darlene (Jim) Hill of Nappanee, Brenda (Randy) Schmucker of Etna Green, IN, Annette (Dan) Slabaugh of Warsaw, IN, and Robert (Tina) Keim of Goshen, IN; 9 grandchildren: Chris (Jen) Keim, Jesse (Sam) Schmucker, Brooke Ward, Amy Slabaugh, Dannyjo Slabaugh, Amber Slabaugh, Alex (Gianna) Keim, Timothy (Jenna) Keim, and Christian Pfeiffer; 18 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. Janet was preceded in death by 6 siblings: Dick, Lois, Robert, MaryAnn, Larry, and Helen. Cremation will take place and a private family graveside service will take place at a later date. Arrangements are with Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
