Jason was born June 5, 1981 in Kansas City, Missouri to Stephen and Laura (Fugitt) Clayton. He earned his High School diploma at North Central Missouri College. Jason was a skilled tradesman for all of his life. Jason passed away unexpectedly and was taken too soon from his family. Jason was a father, a son, a brother, an uncle, a friend and a wonderful human being. Jason was the type of person to always look out for and help others, especially those he cared about and the less fortunate. Jason left a mark on everyone's heart that knew him, and he will be greatly missed. He was an extremely talented tradesman, and his passion was in his work. He was an avid collector of coins and enjoyed reading novels of non-fiction, hunting and spending time with his children and brothers whenever he could. Jason's motivation in life was his children, Lucas, Remington and Lily. Jason loved his children fiercely, and they were his pride and joy. Jason was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed by all of those who were lucky enough to have known him.
He was proceeded in death by his brother Justin Clayton, grandparents Stacy and Helen Clayton, Bill and Patricia Fugitt. Jason is survived by his two sons and daughter; Lucas, Des Moines, IA; Remington and Lily, Catoosa, OK. His parents Stephen and Laura (Fugitt) Clayton of Decorah, IA. His four brothers Jacob (Allison) of San Clemente, CA; Jesse (Sandy) of Decorah, IA; Jeffrey (Sarah) of Kansas City, MO and Jordan (Nicole) of Dana Point, CA. Many uncles aunts and cousins.

I will always remember the first time we met at the gas station. You were laughing so hard at the "cool" thing I just had to show you and from that point on you were a part of my family's life. Lot's of good times and some bad in there as well but I will forever remember the good ones and continue to share those stories with your kids for years to come. You will live on in the memories.

Jason, we had so many good times and many bad times. Nobody could push my buttons quite like you could, but in all fairness I knew how to push yours too. You had a lot of great qualities though and I'm lucky enough to get to see those same qualities in our children. Lily has such a big heart and makes friends wherever she goes, she's a math whiz, and has a great sense of humor. Remington always wants to help anyone he can, he is playful with pulling pranks, and is a sensitive soul. I get to watch those qualities of yours live on in them both, and don't worry they also both know how to drive me crazy so that part of you lives in too. I'm so sad to see you go, but am so glad you are done fighting this battle of life. Rest in peace.

Dearest Jason,
Your memory is a keepsake, one that I will treasure. God has you in his keeping, your family have you in their hearts. “Gone too soon, Jason”, I say to myself as I look at the many photographs of you and your young children and sometimes, Jason, just you all alone. I see your smile, that smile of one proud papa with arms around the beaming smiles of your sweet young children. That is the man you will be remembered for, the man in the reflection of your sweet children.
Rest in peace Jason. Your family loves you, I love you. Aunt Viv
