Jason Lance McInnis, age 43, of Hewitt, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 22, 2023.

He was born on May 8, 1980, in Odessa, Texas, to Mike and Barbara McInnis. He brought joy, happiness and sunshine into our lives and the lives of many others.

Jason is survived by his beloved sons, Austin James McInnis and Gavin Alexander McInnis of Jackson, KY, his mother, Barbara McInnis of Hewitt, TX, his father, Michael T McInnis of Melissa, TX, his brother, Michael C McInnis and wife, Jody McInnis of Melissa, TX, two nieces, four nephews, several aunts, uncles, cousins and 3 great aunts.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marjorie Bullard Watts, grandfather, Emmet Murl Wagner Sr., grandmother, Rosemary Thompson McInnis and grandfather, Lehn Cosden McInnis.

Jason attended Noel Elementary and Bowie Junior High in Odessa, TX. He graduated from Monona Grove High School in Monona Grove, WI in 1998.

He futher pursued his education at the University of Texas at Austin, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science, Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology Degree in 2004.

Jason utilized his knowledge and skills throughout his career as a Manager of Product Development for BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc, Senior Scientist I for Patheon Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Business Unit Team Leader for Catalent Pharma Solutions, QA Specialist for Coldstream Laboratories, Inc and Production Manager of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, and Production Supervisor for PharmaForm. He was a dedicated professional who made significant contributions in his field.

Jason would want all of us to remember him with a smile rather than with tears. He would want us to find comfort in knowing he is free from pain and home with our Heavenly Father. Jason will be remembered for the love he had for his sons, Austin and Gavin, his family and his passion for life.

Jason was born with a passion to learn. His teachers did not give homework in his elementary school, and Jason would make up homework so that he would have some. Eventually, his teachers ordered special workbooks and started assigning Jason homework. He loved it! Jason was an AP honor student thoughout Elementary, Junior High and High School. He felt honored to be recognized in "Who's Who Among American High School Students" for his achieved academic excellence, demonstrated leadership abilities, and positive impact on his school and community. Jason loved soccer and football and was a die-hard "Longhorn" fan.

Jason always had a twinkle in his eyes and a smile on his face. He had a kind, loving and compassionate nature that touched the lives of those around him. His memory will forever be cherished by his loved ones.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held in the Redbud Hall at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens, 3220 Botanic Garden Blvd, Fort Worth, Texas on July 29, 2023, from 2 PM to 4 PM.

Please join us in honoring and remembering Jason Lance McInnis, a beloved son, father, brother, and friend.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the American Liver Foundation. American Diabetes Foundation or a charity of your choice in Jason's honor.

I worked with Jason at Patheon in Cincinnati. He was always fun and loved a good prank. He was taken far too soon. Condolences to his family.
