Jason Westerhoff Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 1, 2024.
Jason Westerhoff, a beloved father, son, and brother, passed away unexpectedly on March 26th, 2024, in Fort Dodge, IA. He was born on October 18th, 1972, in Kankakee, Illinois to Andrew and Jane Westerhoff.

Jason's unwavering love defined his existence. He was a loving and devoted father to his four children: Reid, Madeline, Grey, and Caden. He also shared a close bond and was a cherished brother to Andrew Jr. and Jacob Westerhoff. His love for his family and friends knew no bounds, and was steadfast in his loyalty, support, and generosity. Along with being a family man, he was a man of God who practiced his faith and shared it with others.

A man of many passions and talents, Jason had a keen business mind and a love for math, science, and history. He was a 1991 graduate from Bishop McNamara High School and graduated from Olivet Nazarene University with a Bachelor of Business Administration. In his leisure time he enjoyed coaching, playing volleyball and golf, and barbequing. He was often referred to as a "grill master." Jason made friends everywhere he went and would often be found singing and dancing at any social event. Amongst his talents, Jason was a true craftsman. He had remarkable skills with his tools and the ability to build or fix almost anything. He could always be counted on to offer his help and handywork to anyone in need.

Jason is survived by his mother Jane Westerhoff, brothers Andrew Jr. and Jake Westerhoff (Michelle Westerhoff) and his children. He is also survived by his close aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Westerhoff Sr., and his grandparents Marvin and Norma Westerhoff, Dave and Verna Walters, and Beatrice and Donald LaCost.

Jason's life was cut too short. The untimely end of his life leaves a profound sense of loss, and his memory will be forever cherished by everyone who knew him.

In honor of Jason's memory, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 6th from 1-4pm at 465 S. Main St. in Bourbonnais, IL 60914. As of Friday, April 5th, any condolences may be sent to the Westerhoff family at the above address of the memorial service.

Jason and I would play football with the kids in front yard and would be all time QB. We would play for hours. Never will forget those moments and there were several. He also helped neighbors with decks patios and putting in a golf course around the houses. Fires in the driveway with many many young kids running around the neighborhood. Best of times!

I first met Jason in Vegas when he was on a work trip with my son, Alex, and daughter in law. He was very personable and treated me like he´d known me forever. He taught me to play black jack (under his supervision, lol) and even staked me with $50.00 which I quickly lost. We had so many laughs.
I´m so very sorry for your loss. Jason was an incredible person, and will be missed by many.
