Jeanette Swain was born to James McDonald and Pearl Davis on Sunday, December 14, 1952 in Austin, TX.

Jeanette attended Blackshear Elementary and graduated from Johnston High School in Austin, TX. She was an excellent softball player and also a member of the track team. She continued to play softball while employed at Bergstrom Air Force Base.

Jeanette worked as a maintenance clerk on the flight line at Bergstrom Air Force Base. She also worked as a claims representative at Metropolitan Life and Seton Hospital.

Jeanette was an excellent cook. She loved to prepare food and share food with others. She was well known for the cinnamon rolls that she baked.

Jeanette married Mr. Bobby Swain on October 20,1984 in Austin, TX. They were blessed to enjoy 36 years together.

Jeanette was a faithful member of St. James Baptist Church. She was an active member of the Mass Choir and the Women's Chorus where she sang tenor. Jeanette also sang with Chester D T. Baldwin Music Ministry Mass Choir. She sang on the first two albums, Sing It on Sunday Morning 1 and 2. With the overwhelming success of the albums they toured the east and west coast as well as Chicago, IL.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her father, James McDonald; mother, Pearl Davis; son, Erick McDonald; sister, Shirley Holiday; brothers, Charles McDonald, Mark McDonald, Andrew McDonald, Harry McDonald, and Melvin McDonald.

Jeanette leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 36 years, Bobby Swain; sisters, Stella Bryant and Barbara Jean Owens; son, Christopher Alan Swain; daughters, Mesa Andrews, Gladys McDonald, Stephanie Swain Williams, Lisa Swain and Amy Guerra; grandchildren, Brandon Nobles, Brittany Nobles, Jonathan Nobles, Jasmine Garland, Elve (Trey) Culliver, and Ericka McDonald; great-grandchildren, Josiah McDonald, Amir McDonald, and Ezekiel McDonald; aunts; and a host of relatives and dear friends.
