Jeanine Johnson Sims

Jeanine Johnson Sims, age 74 of Gardendale passed away at her home on Thursday, January 21, 2010. Jeanine was a longtime funeral director at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel where she served and touched many families over the years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pleasant Grove and was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Lee and Ila C. Johnson; her daughter, Suzanne Parmley; husband James H. Sims and sister Barbara J. Dunnie. Survivors include her dear son, James J. "Jimmy" Sims and wife Janice of Hueytown; grandchildren: Wesley and Adrienne Sims; her loving Sims family: Norma Sims of Decatur, Bobbie Sims of Birmingham, Cathryn Sims Hadaway of Murfreesboro, TN, and Virginia Sims Cottrell of Trussville; nieces and nephews: Madeline and Greg Williams, Victor Hadaway, Van and Ann Hadaway, Bernie and Laura Sims, Karen and Bruce Waldrop, Carla and Ric Needham, Julie and Jimmie Rew, Joey and Debbie Dunnie, Travis and Tracy Dunnie and several great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Private graveside services will be held at Shiloh Cemetery in Chambers County.
