Jennifer Jones Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 25, 2017.
Jennifer Leigh Dennison, a beloved wife and mother, had a spirit bursting with generosity and compassion. Most everyone knew and loved her as Jenn who had the biggest blue eyes and biggest smile. Born in Washington D.C., her parents let her older sister Rena decide her name to feel a bond immediately with her new born sister. As a young military family, taking roots anywhere too long was unheard of so Jenn grew up in several places. She spent a few of her younger years in Waco, TX which made her think she had a special bond with Chip and Joanna Gaines from Fixer Upper one of many never missed shows in our house. They were living in Mississippi by the time she was in the 6th grade and then moved back to Texas right on Lake Tawakoni when she was about 17 or18.
Jenn always knew from an early age she wanted to be a hairdresser when she grew up so she went to cosmetology school right after high school. She went on to do several different things working as a hairdresser, then as Redken's trainer showing other hairdressers how to effectively use their hair color products and at some point even at the Hair Club for Men (and no, she wasn't also a client). Although she hadn't professionally practiced for years, she still kept her license active and did her friends and families hair especially all their kiddos.

Jenn connected later on in life with her husband Jason where they created many lasting memories together, the best of which include their blessing of a son Peyton. Jenn had a unique eye for spotting a treasure out of someone else's trash. For several years, she turned this knack into a fruitful business finding highly sought after mid-century modern furniture from the 60's, getting it back to its former glory and reselling it to local dealers. Never a dull moment as parents, Jenn wanted the family to experience as much as they could together. She never stopped talking about how a trip to Disney World a couple of years ago was her utmost favorite vacation ever and was adamant to return every few years. This was rather remarkable as she was extremely frugal at times which a Disney vacation directly conflicts with.

As most, Jenn loved decorating for Christmas sometimes with at least 2 trees with different themes and displaying her collection of nutcrackers. Some of her most cherished Christmas traditions growing up she passed on to Peyton was to bake a cake for Jesus' birthday and to fill stockings up to the brim with anything and everything to then experience the joy and anticipation of being surprised at what you pull out next. One of her all-time favorite holidays though was Halloween. She spent at least a month prior coming up with costume ideas then creating the elaborate costumes for Jason and herself.
Jennifer was an extremely kind and gentle soul and I know she will be truly missed by any who knew her.

She is survived by husband Jason, son Peyton and her sister, brother-in-law and nephew Rena, Lonnie and Dustin Hawk residing in Sarasota, Florida.
