Jeremy Bethune Obituary
Services for Jeremy Glenn Bethune, of Longview, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2010, in the Chapel of Welch Funeral Home, 4619 Judson Road with the Rev. Bobby E. Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Park Cemetery. Jeremy passed away at the age of 19, at his residence, on Monday, December 13, 2010.
Jeremy was born August 6, 1991, in Longview to Claude and Yvonne Bethune. He attended and graduated with academic honors from Spring Hill High School in May of 2010. He was currently attending Kilgore College majoring in Computer Science. He was employed at Lone Star Convenience Store #3 in Longview and loved his job. Jeremy enjoyed playing computer games, building computers, and Mixed Martial Arts. He was the manager of the basketball team in high school and filmed their games. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glenn and Eleanor Tubbs.
Left to cherish Jeremy's memory are his parents, Claude and Yvonne Bethune of Longview; brother, Bryan Bethune and fiancé, Tera Poppy of Longview; grandfather, W.H. "Bill" Bethune of Longview; aunts and uncles, Mary and Don Watson of The Woodlands and Glenda and Wayne Edge of Longview; cousins, Kellee Walker of The Woodlands and Stacie Edge Garcia of Dallas.
Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today, December 17, 2010, at Welch Funeral Home.

Yvonne...I hated so much hearing about your loss. It is a pain I know all too well. Hold tight to God and all the prayers that are being sent up for you and your family. Yvonne, I am so sorry for your loss. Those words never seem to say enough. I lost my sister last year to cancer. and I felt like I was the one who was lost. Suddenly my best friend was gone and I didn't know what to do with myself anymore.
We bring children into the world with such hope for their future. We imagine them with all kinds of possibilities, good education, marriage and great careers. We look forward to these experiences hoping that we will be there to celebrate and enjoy them. Never are we prepared to have our child taken away.
It will take time for your grief to heal. I am still healing. Trust in the Lord and read your Bible, a lot. Remember the good times and talk to his picture ~ It helps.

Words are not adequate to express how saddened I am for your tragic loss. I will always remember Jeremy, Bryan, Meredith and Wade climbing trees, having parades down the middle of the street, jumping on the trampoline, playing and swimming in the back yard. They were a pack of cuties for sure. As I remember fondly how special he was to all of us, my heart goes out to all of you in sympathy and prayer.
