Jerome Betters Obituary
Age 74, of Connellsville, PA, passed away Friday, May 4, 2007. He was born August 5, 1932, in Connellsville, PA, son of the late George and Lela Mae Betters. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Jerome Robert Betters. He was a Qualified and Professional Musician and Trumpet player for many years. Surviving is his wife, Phyllis Betters, Lemont, PA; one son, Harold Betters, Uniontown, PA, one daughter, Jenifer Redman, Dawson, PA, one sister, Vera Jean Minor, Atlanta, GA, two brothers, Harold Betters and Edgar Betters (Bunny), both of Connellsville, PA, one niece, Veronica Washington, of Washington, D.C.; four Sisters-in-law, Christine Yarborough, Uniontown, PA, Arona Cook, California, Patricia Pollard, Uniontown, FL, and Barbara Hamn, Lemont, PA; Grandchildren, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, Great Grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Friends will be received in the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 E. Main St., in Uniontown, PA, on Friday from 5-9 pm, where services will be held on Saturday 12 Noon. Interment Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.

Harold, I am sorry for your loss. You may not remember me but my dad, Pat and Jerry were buddies. My dad mentioned his name often and I did get to meet Jerry when my dad passed 6/23 last year. I heard you all play at D'Imperio's a few weeks later and I got to sit with Jerry and talk with him for some time. My dad was supposed to be there that night and was looking forward to seeing Jerry...well, they are together now and in a better place. God bless you and your family.

Harold: Our deepest sympathy to you and Jerry's family. I had the pleasure of interviewing him for the gigs at the at the Crows Nest, Schoolhouse and of course, the Encore. Always good music.

I had the pleasure of seeing Jerry perform at the "Schoolhouse" many years ago, he used to play "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" for me! What a wonderfully talented man!
