My Uncle Jerry (AKA "UJ") was so much fun.

1. He sent a bunch of coins to my brother and me for Christmas one year when we were very young that he had saved throughout the year. We had so much fun counting out all the coins and splitting the profits.

2. He hired my mother to run his paper route for him as kids. He paid her less that he was making so he made a profit. I absolutely love that story. Entrepreneurship was his calling.

3. He was so excited when my brother's first baby was born he put a banner on the front of his office. :)

4. He has always been so very generous. He gave my daughter a fantastic 16th birthday she will never forget as he helped purchase her first car.

5. UJ was not married most of his life. I was so used to writing thank you notes as a child to "Dear Uncle ___ and Aunt ____, thank you for the ____". Well he didn't have a wife when I was a child so I wrote "Dear Uncle Jerry and Aunt Noone". That one stuck around.

I will miss him dearly but very glad he is not stuck in that body that no longer was serving him well. Now he is with our Lord and I will pray for him always. A wonderful Uncle for sure!

I miss my wonderful creative brother so very very much!! He was so good to his family and he dearly loved his nieces and nephews. We could always count on being together at Thanksgiving. His presence was a gift to us.

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Jerry since he started his business in Chattanooga. His slogan, "Building with Integrity" says it all. What a great guy, and fun to be around. We shared many meals, and even a helicopter tour in Maui. This disease he contracted is a terrible thing, but he will suffer no more. Thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family, but especially to my good friend Brendan Bastable. The entire Varco Pruden organization suffers with you...
