I met Jerry many years ago at the Dixie Nationals. I was there helping a couple of friends with their reining horses, and our stalls were near his. I cant remember now exactly how it was that we first got talking, but when I told him that I was a great admirer of his, and that my horse mentor was Fain Yearty, of Holt, Florida, he told me that hed always liked Fain, and that he usually did well under Fain when he was judging, but not everyone liked how Fain judged, because he would actually give you and honest opinion, based on the true merits of the horse, and not who was leading it, we struck up a friendship. And for years after that, every time I would see him at a show, he would smile and say hello, and ask how was I, and how was Fain. I could never figure out how he could keep mental track of ALL the people hed met at various horse shows along the way over all the years that hed been a horseman, but that little effort sure helped make me feel at home at the big shows, and like one of the boys. He was one of my horseman heroes, and I felt blessed that he called me a friend! May God bless him, and you and your family, and I am so very sorry for your loss!

Betty,
We are saddened by your loss as it is a loss for all who knew Jerry. We have kept a little contact with Jerry through the years and he was always a pleasure to talk to. And was a great classmate as I shared four years with him in school. Our prayers will be with you as you walk through this dark time in your life. We know that prayers are a great comfort at a time like this.
