Jeff, I just heard about Jill, today. My heartfelt condolences to you, Andrew, Kate and Lauren. I wish I had words to make the pain, less for all of you. I always enjoyed her sarcasm on the sidelines and admired her deep faith along with her dedication to others. You are all in our hearts and prayers.

Sending our sincerest condolences to you, Jeff and Huitsing Family. We are all blessed and better people getting to know and love Jill. What a privilege to share the formative years of motherhood with Jill. I learned so much from her about being a Godly (and efficient- not my strong suit!) wife, mom & friend. She truly was a champion for moms cheering us on and equipping us for every good work with our families. Perhaps my fondest and best memory of Jill is how she literally helped nourish my family for 10 years of faithful freezer cooking. I didn´t even know something existed like that, but for years, Jill organized amazing culinary delights, recipes all typed and emailed in exact proportions and we would share many a late night prepping & cooking for our families. Chicken chimichangas, Stromboli, and pesto manicotti were some of the favorites and Jill´s amazing planning, friendship and can-do attitude was such an encouragement to me in the often lonely and daunting days of parenthood. Just this week, Jill´s love and presence was in our house as we hung an old MOPS felt advent calendar that she helped spearhead as a meaningful (and very involved!) MOPS craft. I love that her vision, planning and desire for families to intentionally celebrate Jesus still lives on in homes all across Indianapolis. Jill was such an amazing mom, wife, friend and daughter of Christ. May new mercies greet you daily, Jeff, Lauren, Andrew & Kate.

I offer my heartfelt condolences to Jeff, Lauren, Andrew, and Kate of the loss of your steadfast wife and mom, Jill.
I prayed and served with Jill in Moms in Prayer. As you know, Jill prayed faithfully in this group for many years pouring over many teachers and staff but most dearly she prayed for her children. She was so devoted and rarely missed a meeting. The amount of prayers that she prayed over the years for her children would form a bridge to heaven if that were possible.
As a leader, she brought order and ease to those she served with. She worked hard to keep the burden light for others by using her administrative gifts. I did not know her degree was in business administration, but when I read this about her, that made total sense. She used her gifts for God's glory faithfully. Ephesians 2:10 comes to mind. "For we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them." Jill knew what her gifts were and used them to take the burden off others. Her years may have seemed short, but the way she used them was fruitful.

This just breaks my heart to hear this! Jill was a parent volunteer at my school and a member of the Moms in Prayer group. I so enjoyed receiving prayer requests from her and the group! I had both Lauren and Kate in my class! Jill was such an amazing mom when it came to advocating for her kids and being supportive of teachers! Sending prayers and hugs to the entire Huitsing family! Sincerely, Julie Jackson

So sad to hear of Jills passing. I also was a volunteer leader when Jill was in Junior high... she was always an upbeat, encouraging spirit. So wonderful to hear all the amazing things she has done since then!
So sorry for the loss for her family and friends. Heaven gained a wonderful person, and became much sweeter.
Praying for you all.

So heartbroken to hear this! I still can see her beautiful face greeting me on Sunday mornings, reaching out her arms to welcome my kids into her Sunday school room. I so appreciated her plain spoken servant-heart and her many talents. I still marvel at her laundry schedule that she shared at MOPS - I am still trying to emulate this sensible and efficient approach that seemed so obvious to her ( and so mysterious to me...;)
Grieving her loss and the deep hole that will leave for so many, especially her family.
Jesus, be companion to these who mourn.
Thanking God for her life and legacy,
Bess Malek-Maiorano and family

Jan, Jeff, and kids, We are saddened to learn of Jill´s passing. I can still recall knowing Jill as a Jr Higher in the youth group when I served as a leader. And many years later having Jill be a rock star room leader for Sparks in AWANA.
While we have the hope of knowing she is in Heaven, it is deep grief for those left behind.
Know we are praying for you all.

These are such precious words to describe Jill and all the many ways God's grace was on her life and gifted her so uniquely. Our family was so saddened to hear of her illness and passing. We are trusting the Lord to meet every need for Jeff and the kids during this incredibly difficult time. And, we are praising God for Jill's life and testimony of faith that will undoubtedly live on in so many ways. What an amazing experience she must be having seeing Jesus now!

I never knew what speed walking was until I met Jill. I had seen people walk fast, but Jill took it to a whole new level. Did you know there's a special technique to it?
We went to Ukraine twice with Jeff and Jill on mission trips in 2002 and 2003. Jill was always willing to help where needed, even when our team wondered at the efficiency of the process, like packing down a room full of gravel with a tool the size of a hoe. Another day we were helping with kitchen tasks and were supposed to peel potatoes. We looked around for potato peeler gadgets, and the local staff handed us semi-sharp knives. We watched in awe as they made quick work of peeling mounds of potatoes while we fumbled along as best we could.
Jeff and Jill shared the Indy 500 experience with us in 2010, and they had the day down to a science - how to time things so they could go to church in the morning, where to park for a short walk to IMS, and how to exit without getting stuck in traffic.
Our paths diverged as our kids got older. The last time I saw Jill was at summer soccer scrimmages hosted by Carmel in 2023. She shared hopes that Kate would make the freshman team, no small feat in a program as good as Carmel's. When our team played Carmel during the season, I saw Kate's name on the roster and knew how proud Jill was that Kate had earned her spot. At the same summer scrimmages in 2024, I didn't see Jill but dropped her a text to see if we should look for Kate. She shared that Kate was now running cross country and that God had made it clear that that's where He wanted her. Jill loved her kids so much and was excited for God's best for them.

I don't know Jill, but I know her daughter Lauren. If it is true "like mother, like daughter," Jill was a wonderful, compassionate person with a beautiful smile and a great sense of what it means to be a godly woman.

Jill was the leader of Moms in Prayer for Creekside which was always a sweet time. She lived to pray and care deeply for her kids and those at the Carmel schools. She desired them all to know Jesus. She was so very thoughtful and always asked good questions. I lived the time I was able to know her, so sad to hear of her loss in this cancer battle and will be praying for her sweet family.
