Jill Huitsing

Jill Huitsing, a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on November 20, 2024 after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. Jill is survived by her husband, Jeff, children Lauren, Andrew, and Kate, her father, Jan Mueller, her brother Brian (Rilie) Mueller and many more family members who loved her dearly. Jill was preceded in death by her loving mother, Patti.



Jill was born in Peoria, IL on May 7, 1978 to Jan & Patti Mueller. Growing up with her grandparents just a few minutes away was a blessing Jill enjoyed throughout her childhood. The Muellers attended a Bible-teaching church, Grace Presbyterian, where Jill accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and began a personal relationship with Him. Following graduation from Richwoods High School, Jill attended Taylor University receiving a degree in Business Administration. While at Taylor, Jill met her husband of over 23 years, Jeff. Following graduation in 2000 she moved to Indianapolis. Jeff and Jill were married on March 3, 2001. Soon after, Jill faced her first battle with cancer, and by God's grace, she beat the disease. After being told it could be difficult to become pregnant, the Lord provided Jeff and Jill with three amazing children, Lauren (20), Andrew (18), and Kate (16). Jill's love for her children was immensely deep and a defining component of her life.



Jill was a lifelong skier, a lover of tennis (watching, not playing!), attended 38 straight Indy 500 races with her dad, brother, and other family and friends, a cheering mom at countless soccer matches and other competitions, an amazing chef, deeply hospitable, and a helper to many. Jill had a heart for young mothers, volunteered in many roles within the church, served on the Parent's Council at Taylor University, and prioritized valuable time studying God's Word with other women. A planner to the extreme, Jill was always looking ahead, and never missed a detail. Notably, Jill planned extensive family road trips allowing each of the lower 48 states to be visited in just 6 trips!



Jill's second battle with cancer began in November 2022 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The last two years of her life were quite difficult. Not one to complain or want the spotlight, she quietly fought while enduring pain and discomfort. During this time, her relationship with Christ deepened. Jill's faith in Jesus Christ was evident in how she lived her life. While she did not beat cancer on earth, Jill is experiencing victory as she is now cancer-free upon meeting her Savior in Heaven!



Jill had a deep love for her Alma Mater, Taylor University. She recognized the impact it had on her life, especially her relationship with Jesus, and for years has supported students through a scholarship. She wanted to make it more financially feasible for students to attend Taylor. Jill was thrilled when Lauren decided to attend Taylor and was equally excited to know Andrew will be a freshman in the Fall of 2025. Jill's family will be available for a visitation at Cornerstone Bible Church in Westfield, Indiana on December 7th from 1:00 to 3:30 immediately followed by a celebration of life service. The service will be livestreamed at discovercbc.org.
