Jimmy Johnson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 2, 2019.
Jimmy Allen Johnson, of The Villages, Florida, formerly of Rockford and Arlington Heights, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday January 29, 2019. Jimmy was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa to parents Harold & Helen Johnson on August 30, 1946.
Jimmy proudly served in the United States Army for 4 years with much of that time on the ground in Vietnam. He provided for his family by running Brandy's Automotive in the Chicagoland area until he retired. He loved to be outdoors, fishing, and enjoying nature - and he loved to golf (which was why he retired to The Villages). He was a family man who loved to spend his time with his children and grandchildren. He loved to play cards - and his family have many happy memories of playing Dirty Hearts with him. He celebrated his faith by serving in his church - Open Bible Lutheran Church in Oxford, FL. He will be missed by his entire family and his many friends.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Johnson, as well as his parents.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 51 happy years, Pamela; his daughters Wendi (husband Jim), Julie (husband Scott), Katie (husband Greg); as well as 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by one sister, Sandi Peterson, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Jimmy's family will receive guests on Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights, IL and then we will proceed to Memory Gardens Cemetery where he will receive Military Honors and be laid to rest near his daughter Jennifer.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Fisher House as they helped the family tremendously during this time of extreme hardship.
