Joan Jeffers

Joan Jeffers (née Moritz), age 73, passed away peacefully at home on April 21, 2025, in Forked River, New Jersey.

Born on August 4, 1951, in New Jersey, Joan spent her life rooted in the community she loved. She had a passion for teaching and loved her job. Her warmth and vibrant spirit touched many throughout the years. She was known for her loving nature, generous heart, sharp sense of humor and a song for every occasion.

Joan was a devoted mother to her daughters, Jennifer Hill and Melissa Hess. She cherished every moment spent with them and found immense joy in being surrounded by her grandchildren Paula, Joanna, Patrick, Jon and Andi Jo and her great grandchildren Bella and Finn. She also leaves behind the love of her life Glenn Darwell.

Joan embraced life with energy and affection. She loved being outside gardening, sunbathing at the lake or ocean, biking, walking or reading a book. But her favorite activity was simply enjoying time with her family and friends.

A woman of faith, Joan was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she found spiritual strength and fellowship. Services will be private. The family requests that you share your favorite memories and pictures. This small gesture would be the most meaningful for them.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her and the many children she taught over the years. May her legacy of kindness and laughter continue to bring comfort and inspiration.
