Port Orchard, Washington - Jo (Daly) Fitzsimmons passed away peacefully December 14th, at the age of 87, at her home in Port Orchard. She was born to Maxine Daly in Olympia, WA, the first girl of a three daughter pack the neighbors referred to as the "three little angels". Growing up in Nisqually, and later Olympia, times were not easy during her early years, but Jo, seeing the glass as half full her entire life, found much of life an adventure. She was a busy and happy kid, who graduated from Olympia High School in 1951, met Bob Fitzsimmons at Washington State College in 1952, and they married in 1955. Jo and Bob's life adventure included four children and an Air Force career which allowed the family to live in various states plus a long stint in Germany, which was Jo's favorite. Bob's Air Force retirement led the family back to Washington State in 1975, and anchored the family in the Pierce County area for the remaining years of their lives, which included many fond memories at their vacation home in Long Beach, WA. Jo is predeceased by her mother Maxine, husband Bob, son Robert Scott, and sister Beverly. She is survived by her sister Nancy Alexander (Skip), daughters Nancy Edwards (Jeff) and Kathy Moorhead (Ron), and son Mark (Annie); five grandchildren, and two sweet great granddaughters. The outpouring of love for Jo from her extended family and good friends in the community upon her death have spotlighted how creative, positive, thoughtful and generous she was; and a dear and trusted friend to so many. Services will be scheduled at a later date in Tacoma, WA. Please donate to your favorite charity in Jo's name; or gift flowers to someone you love. As Jo would say, there is no such thing as too many flowers.
